Saudi Customs joined SADAD


Saudi Customs joined SADAD on March 15, 2008 and to facilitate the payment of fees of customs procedures service to the public importers and its clientele, across all banking channels available in various parts of the Kingdom.

The objectives of Saudi Customs are summarized in the following: Security and Religious Objective: Interdiction of contraband offensive to Islamic Faith, contrary to morals, and detrimental to the society and its stability (narcotics, weapons, etc.). Economic Objective: Collection of customs duties on imported goods as per rates prescribed in customs tariff manual. Facilitation of export procedures, and Protection and encouragement of domestic industries by imposing relatively high duty rates on identical imports, in addition to exemption of equipment, implements, spare parts, and raw materials (which contribute to improvement of domestic industries efficiency) from customs duties. Social Objective: Exemption of essential consumer commodities from customs duties (such as tea, coffee, etc.) or imposing low customs duties on ordinary imported goods.
