The Communications and Information Technology Commission joined Sadad on 27 October 2007, to provide citizens universally available, high quality, affordable communications and information technology services.

Due to the importance of the role of the Information Technology and its adherence with the successive developments in the telecommunications world, the Commission was entrusted with tasks like: Provide a fair, clear and transparent regulatory environment to promote competition, safeguard public interest and stakeholder rights, Enable universal availability of advanced ICT services and optimize utilization of scarce resources, and increase ICT awareness and usage to enhance national efficiency and productivity.
