The Company for Cooperative Insurance (NCCI), and Marafiq Join Sadad

NCCI and Marafiq were the first Saudi companies to link with SADAD Payment System on the October 3rd 2004. NCCI uses SADAD to streamline all its driving insurance policy payments and expected to add all its other insurance products (health and life) to be presented and paid through SADAD. Marafiq on the other hand is using SADAD to present its monthly utility bills (water and Electricity) and receive payments from its subscribers mainly located in Jubail and Yanbu industrial cities.

SADAD was established by the Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency (SAMA) to be the national Electronic Bill Presentment and Payment (EBPP) service provider for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). The core mandate for SADAD is to facilitate and streamline bill payment transactions of end consumers through all channels of the Kingdom’s Banks. SADAD aims to link all the banks and billers in the Kingdom in the near future.

NCCI was established with the specific aim of meeting the demand for a national insurer equipped with ample resources in both capital and professional expertise to transact insurance business in accordance with the cooperative insurance concept the Islamically accepted substitute for commercial insurance.

Marafiq started operating as a private power and water utility company on 1 January 2003, with SR 2,5 billion of initial owner equity to provide environmentally sensitive power and water services that meet customers needs at competitive and sustainable prices in support of the economic development plans for Jubail and Yanbu.
